Providence Regional Cancer Partnership
Another magnificant program February 3, 2012 featuring three representatives of the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership.
Margret Salmassy is the Executive Director at the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership. Margret has been with the Cancer Partnership going into her fourth year. She provides the strategies to grow the Cancer Program programs and services as well as develops strong relationships with the physicians and the community they serve.
Gerald Vasquez, Director of Radiation Oncology. Gerald has been with the Cancer Partnership since it opened in July 2007. He is responsible for the daily operations in Radiation Oncology including technology development and enhancement, patient safety and staff management.
Kelly Mardesich is a the Clinical Practice Manager of Infusion Services. Kelly has been with the Cancer Partnership since it opened in July 2007. She managers the nurses who give chemotherapy treatments. She is also responsible for the daily operations including program development, work efficiencies and making sure the nurses are chemotherapy certified.
Each of our wonderful speakers talked about the integrative medicine and the comprehensive cancer program offered at the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership from medical oncology, chemotherapy, radiation oncology, gynecologic oncology and on-site clinical pharmacist, the on-site clinical lab, clinical cancer research and the palliative care program. Last year, the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership received the Gold Standard of Care which is a three year award with commendation accreciation through the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
The goal of the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership is to "take care of the whole patient" through cutting edge medical treatment, high tech, state of the art procedures along with specialized nutrition care services, Spirtual Care Service and multidisciplinary Clinics.
This was truly one of the most informative discussions on the capabilities of the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership with the commitment to give world class care to the patients they serve.
