Passing the Gavel
This year's annual meeting was full of fellowship, warmth and above all fun. David Johnson, Sergeant of Arms extraordinaire highlighted the fun portion of the meeting and had everyone in stitches as he doled out funny awards after funning awards. Many attempts were made to disrobe him of his position but to no avail. Very few members were left out of the fray.
The annual meeting was President Scott Smith's ceremony to honor the members who served on his Board as officers and directors, present the Rotarian of the Year and Presidential Citation Distinguished Awards and recap an awesome year for the Club. In the end it was time to pass the gavel to Jim Kelley (pictured), the incoming President for 2013-2014. Kelley's board will include the following Officers beginning July 1st: Gary O'Rielly, President-Elect; Bill Demeroutis, President-Nominee; Jim Haugen, Secretary; Loren Hole, Treasurer and Past President Scott Smith. Directors will be Tracy DeLorm and Kathy Little for Community Services; Bill Demeroutis, Club Service; John Huber, Membership; Scott Smith, International Service, David Johnson, Sergeant of Arms; James Monroe, Website Administrator and Programs and Gary O'Rielly, Public Relations.
Congratulations to Scott for leading our Club this past year. In the end, we will have four new members and an application to approve at its Board meeting on Friday, June 21st. A good start at rebuilding our membership, the Club's two year budget, a successful Wine and Beer Tasting Fundraiser, AquaFest, poinsettia and wreath sales all wrapped into another successful year for our small Club to grow on in the future. Plus, 13 members were honored for Perfect Attendance this past year.
Welcome Jim Kelley as our new leader and the new Board. We look forward to building on one successful year after another. The possibilities are endless and the goals are in sight.
