Lake Stevens SW Annexation

On August 7, 2009 the Club heard from the Mayor of Lake Stevens, Vern Little, about the current plans to annex around the lake.
Annexation is the process used by cities to bring surrounding areas within their Urban Growth Area (UGA) into city limits. On February 23, the Lake Stevens City Council passed a Resolution calling for an election. The Resolution submits the proposal for annexation to the qualified voters of the Southwest Annexation Area. A ballot will be presented to the qualified voters living within the proposed annexation area to be voted on the November 3 ballot. For more information at the City website click here.
