Our special program and guests on Friday, September 20th were Dr. Mary Templeton, Superintendent of the Lake Stevens School District and Robb Stanton, Executive Director of Operation Services, discussing the upcoming District Bond and the importance of passing the measure on the November 5th General Election ballot.
Dr. Templeton reported that while other school districts are loosing students, the Lake Stevens School District continues to grow. Currently there are 10,000 students attending schools in the District. The Bond would allow the District to build a new elementary school and fund essential updates across the district and replaces the BOND that our community approved in 2005.

In her comments, Dr. Templeton stated that people are coming here because of the reputation of the Lake Stevens School District. That has been echoed time and time again. A bond issues must win 60% of the General Election vote to pass and move forward.
