Our guest speaker this past week was Tina Mandella, Site Director for the Lake Stevens Resource Center operated by the Volunteers of America, Western Washington.
Here are some of the images from the Back-to-School Drive and the 2022 Back to School event. The Lake Stevens Resource Community Resource Center opened January 2021 and is located inside the Holy Cross Church on 20th St SE off of Hwy 9. The Center is open Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 4 pm. The Center offers a safe place to seek help and resources during times of need.
 
In 2021 LSCRC served 3,055 individuals and 1,216 families. In 2022 the LSCRC has so far served 1,868 individuals and 723 families through October. LSCRC provides a wide range of support from basic needs items to help with utilities, from help filing out an application for benefits or a job to rental assistance and so much more.
 
The Community Resource Centers are one-stop-shop hubs for families and individuals in crisis and or struggling to meet their basic needs. They provide a wide range of services and support as listed above while supplying emergency food and pet food. They have a 24-hour food pantry and community garden, hygiene items, clothing, diapers, wipes and formula and a full range of services that help and provide assistance with employment opportunities and job referrals. So much more.
