
Our guest speaker on Friday, December 8th was Tina Mandella, Lake Stevens Community Resource Center providing our Club with her annual update. The LSCRC is a one-stop hub of services for people in need. From help with the basic needs like food, clothing and shelter, to assistance with other kinds of resources and programs, the make sure that our neighbors are supported and cared for in their journeys toward stability.
The LSCRC recently moved to the new Lake Stevens Community Food Bank. The hours of service are Monday-Thursday from 9 am-12 pm and 1 pm-4 pm Prior to the move, Tina and her assistant were the only employees. The move has changed the dynamics with the addition of 4 more staff members to help provide the services needed for our community. In 2021 LSCRC served 3,055 individuals and 1,216 families. In 2022, LSCARC served 2,155 individuals and 801 families.
Some of the services are: Affordable housing search; housing applications; rent and utility assistance (dependent on funding); job search, resume, and cover letter; connection to mental health services; government benefit applications; treatment recovery services; diapers/wipes; household essentials; cold weather supplies; birthday programs; holiday help and hot meals.
