An exciting Member meeting with two guest speakers.
Our Interact Club President Rebecca (20-17-2018)was our first guest speaker. She talked about her trip sponsored by our Club along with the Rotary Club of Everett to the Dominican Republic to help build a commercial garden. She went with several others to work with locals on the garden.
Unfortunately, the seeds did not arrive in time to finish the project. However, they were able to finish the green house and sharing some photos of the project. One of the highlights of the trip was touring the capital, Santo Domingo, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Two Peace Corp members were involved from the Everett group. They visited a local Rotary Club and had some exciting moments which included jumping off of a water fall, celebrating a member's birthday and touring a monkey camp where funds from the monkey camp were donated to a doctor and dentist clinic.
Rebecca is working on goals for the upcoming Interact school year. Included in the goals are getting more involved with the Food Bank, perhaps involving the whole school and doing a clean up project.
