This past weekend our Cub Scout Pack's Annual Blue & Gold Banquet was held at nearby Camp Edward. The Blue & Gold is a way to celebrate the birth of the Scouting movement in America in February 1910. This is often an opportunity for families to celebrate the accomplishments of their Cub Scouts. Our Pack is strong with over 60 boys and girls across six ages from 5 through 10. The Pack has a diverse set of men and women leading the Scouts in a wide array of activities and achievements. Pack Committee Chair Gloria Messer was honored by her peers for her leadership. In turn, Cubmaster Christoph Vrillaqc was recognized for his part in keeping the fun in Scouting.
At the end of the Banquet, five girls "crossed over" from Cub Scouts to Scout BSA and joined our Troop. The Crossover Ceremony is a long standing tradition where the Scouts actually cross over a bridge symbolizing the transition from Cub Scouts to Scouts BSA. Adding the girls to the Troop is exciting news and the Troop is expecting some other girls to join in the next few weeks. Thank you to the Pack Leaders for your commitment to the youth of our community.
