Club Assembly - Feb 2013

The Club Meeting February 15th had to move to The Buzz Inn due to the lack of food at the LSSD Administration Building. The Food Service Division of the school district doesn't prepare food on non-student days. Everyone was flexible and the meeting started on time.

A review of the Board Meeting was provided by several members. Bill Demeroutis advised that we will not be using the School District's Food Service any more. We are losing money on this. Bill also advised that the Club has been approached about sponsoring a local student to the District's RYLA program. This will have to be decided by the Vocational Committee. Dean was not at the Board Meeting and the Club doesn't know if the funds are available for sponsorship due to the review that Loren is doing. Loren Hole updated everyone on the status of Club finances. He and Lorna have been reviewing the materials provided by Debe Franz. They have most everything figured out and by the March Board Meeting will be able to give an up-to-date report. Loren is getting the Club's Foundation finances information from Debe next week. Loren also said that we will be getting rid of the credit card/debit card machine. This costs the Club about $600 annually to use. We can use every savings opportunity available to us right now.

Tracy reminded everyone that the Community Supper service project is coming up on March 21st. Sign up at the Club's website. Joyce Bell stated that she wants to help out. James added that he would contact the Cub Scout Pack as well.

Gary announced that the next Board Meeting will be on March 13th. Location to be announced. He added that the combined District 5040 & District 5050 Peace Forum is coming up on February 23rd in Vancouver, BC...eh.

General announcements- James announced that the Lake Stevens Fire Department has received a grant to offer FREE smoke alarms and home inspections to residents of the Fire District. If anyone wants to take advantage of this they need to call the Fire Department at 425 334 3034. James also said that he and Scott Smith have tickets for the LSHS Senior Class Parent Group Grad Night Party Texas Hold 'Em fundraiser February 23rd. If anyone wants tickets they should contact either of them. Scott announced that we are partnering with the Purple & Gold Club to do a Texas Hold 'Em fundraiser on April 13th at Team Fitness. More information about this will be coming out soon.

The Wine Tasting Fundraiser Planning Committee will be meeting on February 21st at the Kelly home, 7:00 pm.
