Keith Partington and Don Iverson share their Classification Talk with our Club last Friday.
Keith is a Lifelong Snohomish County resident who graduated from Marysville Pilchuck and has been married to Alisa for nearly 28 years. Three children who all graduated from Lake Stevens High School. Kelsi is a Kindergarten teacher at Stevens Creek and is married to Brandon who is an officer with the Lake Stevens Police Department. Kelsi and Brandon have a 20 month old daughter (granddaughter) whose name is Brielle. Tyler is a mechanical engineer living in Chicago with his finance Steph who is graduating from Northwestern's medical school this month and Lucas is a Sophomore at WSU.
Keith joined the Marine Corps out of high school and has been in the insurance business since leaving the Corps. Keith has been with Allstate for the last eight years with an office in Everett and recently acquired fellow Club Member Bill Demeroutis' agency when the latter retired. Keith is a volunteer coach for soccer, AAU basketball, Little League and Select Baseball and still coaches for the Boys and Girls Club in Lake Stevens and Arlington. He now enjoys more time for golf, fishing, hiking and travel.
Don was born in Seattle and grew up in northeast Seattle. Don has lived in multiple homes in the region with principal residence in Seattle, Shoreline, Edmonds, the Eastside, Camano Island and finally in Lake Stevens. His wife Eve grew up in New York and moved to Seattle in her early 20's. Their children have all selected the Seattle region for their homes with established careers and are raising six grandchildren. Don's two brothers and their families have remained in the region, now living on San Juan Island and in Bellingham.
Don and Eve are nearing retirement. They chose Lake Stevens because it is a centralized location between relatives and friends and their lakefront home has proven to be a great draw for family and friends. Don likes to hike, bike, boat/sail and kayak. Don and his brother sailed an old 30' Tahiki ketch up the inland passage from Seattle to Alaska just for fun in his teenage years and pretty much living off of the land or sea.
Don's career is a specialist in building engineering for healthcare building and similar complex facilities over the past 40 years. He has served as the engineer of record for hundreds of projects at dozens of regional hospitals ranging from Cascade Valley Hospital in Arlington to Harborview Medical Center.
Both members have engaged themselves in our Rotary Club and become active members. Welcome Don and Keith!
