Our guest speaker on Friday, September 11th was Wen Chen. She was here to talk about chinese medicine. Chinese medicine is based on the Taoism Theories--that each human body is a small universe. The liver is connected to eyes, and the kidney is connected to the ears and everything is holistic and interconnected. All of the good must be eaten in balance. Dumplings were invented as medicine back around 200 AD. As the lunar new year approached, dumbling soup was eaten to keep you healthy in the winter.
