Katrina Ondracek, Director of the Public Policy & Community Initiatives for the United Way Chapter of Snohomish County, gave a presentation at our regular meeting, April 3, 2009. The Born Learning Trail is an interactive, playful and visable community engagement tool.

The Trail captures ten fun outdoor activities with engaging signs to help parents and caregivers crreate learning opportunities for a young child. The trail can be a valuable community resource fro early learning.

The Trail is a community change strategy, helping boost children's language and literacy skills - and encouraging families to get active.

Through a partnership with our Rotary Club and a District (5050) Simplified Grant, we are looking to develop a trail in Lake Stevens. The final location is yet to be determined. Several ideas for locations were tendered by the members.
