Our guest speaker on Friday, February 27th was Haley Karnes, Campaign Development Manager for the Pacific Northwest Chapter of Blood Cancer United--formerly the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The organization provides research, support and advocacy. Blood Cancer United is the leading organization for everyone affected by blood cancer. The organization started in 1949. The organization is involved in advanced cancer care, patient support programs including peer to peer support, education and nutrition as well as resource programs. Blood Cancer United is a Visionary working with Fred Hutch and Children's Hospital Policy and Advocacy. Removing red tape is a big issue. Fundraising is a major part of their efforts.
