To the supporters of this year's Wine Tasting, Beer Tasting & Auction. This was, by all accounts, a Super Fun, Super Cool & Elegant Event. Thank you to the wine and beer vendors. Thank you to the contributors of the almost 100 auction items from vacations to personal care items to autographed books. Thank you to the attendees who joined us in an evening of supporting our local, regional and international communities.
For the first time ever, there were several live auction items as part of our event. Auctioneer Ken Collins did a great job in building up these items and encouraging attendees to show their appreciation.
A special part of the live auction was the money raised for Hungry Hearts, a local non-profit that provides meals for school children on the weekends. Almost $10,500 was pledged and will go a long ways towards helping kids in Lake Stevens.
With the funds raised through the silent and live auctions our Club will be able to provide scholarships to graduating seniors, support the Lake Stevens Family Center, the Lake Stevens Food Bank, the Lake Stevens Senior Center, Cub Scout Pack 88, our Interact Club at the High School, the Lake Stevens Education, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, the Lake Stevens Community Supper, the Skate Park at Cavalero County Park and the eradication of polio.
We also awarded the first ever Rotary Club of Lake Stevens Citizen of the Year to Terry Myer. Her tireless work of involving the community in a wide variety of activities has served as a catalyst for good in Lake Stevens.
