BURLINGTON MID DAY ROTARY BOOK PROJECT

Members of the Burlington Mid-Day Rotary purchased $2,500 worth of books that they will be giving away to all second graders at Allen, Edison, Bay View, Lucille Umbarger, and West View Elementary Schools. Members will read a short story to classes and then present them with a book of their own to take home. The book give away is in conjunction with the National Education Association's celebration of Dr. Suess' birthday and Read Across America the first week in March. The Club not only supports literacy locally, but also has a project in the works to send books to schools across the world.
