Bio:

Susan Champlain is director, State and Local Government Operations for The Boeing Company.  In this role, she is responsible for representing the company’s interests with local, state and federal elected officials in the Northwest.   She focuses on tax, environmental, international trade and competitiveness issues.

From 2008 to 2010, Champlain served as Vice President in the Seattle office of Hill & Knowlton, a worldwide public relations firm.  There, she advised clients seeking to impact public policy in the Northwest. 

From 2002 to 2008, Champlain served in policy and state and local government relations roles for the Boeing Company in Seattle.  She developed company positions on public policy and represented the company in Olympia.

Champlain joined Boeing in 1999 as manager of Legislative Affairs in Washington DC.  She served in that role until 2002, lobbying Members of Congress on international trade issues including China PNTR, Trade Promotion Authority and the U.S. – Vietnam free trade agreement. 

Prior to joining Boeing, Champlain worked for six years as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill focusing on international trade and defense policy.

Susan holds a BA in International Studies from University of Washington and a MA in International Affairs from The George Washington University. 

Susan, her husband Scott and their daughter live in Issaquah.
