The issue of homelessness in our veteran population
Mike has an interesting and compelling story to tell about his experiences as a Marine Corps reservist and later Marine Corps regular during the Vietnam War era.  Mike faced challenges transitioning back to civilian life, which over time led to his seeking ways to support other veterans in their transition home. Through both his professional and volunteer life, Mike has focused his efforts on addressing the issue of homelessness in our veteran population. He's sought ways to assist them in preparing and returning to the workforce so they needn't resort to living on the streets.

Mike is the founder of Homeless Not Helpless, an organization for which I myself volunteered years ago.  He is currently working to restart Homeless Not Helpless. They are looking to focus attention on the needs of homeless veterans and seek ways to better help them find both the services and employment they so deservedly (and desperately) need.
