Irvin M Hall, Jr., died peacefully, Saturday, Sept 12, 2009 at his home in Merrill Gardens in Gardnerville, Nev. He was 87.
 
Irvin joined the U.S. Navy in 1941 and was accepted as a musician and played flute and piccolo with the broadcast band in Washington, DC. He then served on the battleship USS Pennsylvania which fought in many battles in the South Pacific. He went to U.C. Berkeley where he received his PhD in Insect Pathology. He married Maisie McCann, and together they had three children. Irvin and Maisie have six grandchildren and three great grndchildren. Irvin had a distinguished career for 30 years at U.C. Riverside as a professor of Insect Pathology and was known throughout the world in that field. Irvin retired at the age of 62, and he and Maisie moved to Bishop. Finally, "Father Time" caught up with him, and he and Maisie moved to Merrill Gardens, a lovely retirement center in Gardnerville.
