Rotary District 5260 Names New Governor-Elect

Rotary International District 5260 has announced that Tom Hardy, Past President of the Rotary Club ofBishop Sunrise, who was named District 5260 2012-2013 Governor Nominee in 2010, is now stepping forward into the 2011-2012 District Governor Elect position. Hardy will replace Janette Crawford who felt required to resign for personal reasons.
"I know Janette sincerely wanted to serve our District, and I am sorry that she won't have that opportunity," Hardy confided. "Bu,I'm very excited for the year ahead, ad I am looking forward to leading all of the clubs of District 5260 into Rotary's bright future. I am also humbled by the faith that my fellow Rotarians have in my abilities, and by all of the support that I have already received."
Hardy became a Rotarian on Groundhog Day, 2005, when he was inducted into the Rotary Club of Bishop Sunrise. He was sworn in as club president in 2007-2008, during which time he led the club to an RI Presidential Citation, and District awards in all the Avenues of Service. He was also selected as District 5260 Co-President of the Year. He served as an Assistant Governor in 2009-2010, and is currently serving as an Executive Assistant Governor.
Hardy is a partner in the law firm of Hardy & Place in Bishop, California. He is a "small town lawyer" handling a wide variety of civil ad criminal matters. He is a member of the State Bar of California, and was twice President of the Inyo County Bar Association.
He enjoys spending time with his wife Nancy, traveling, gardening, cooking, hiking, and keeping an eye on Bodie, Eppie and Rosie, the wonder dogs.
Hardy is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, and a member of the District 5260 Paul Harris Society. His wife is also a Paul Harris Fellow, and both are members of the Bequest Society. In addition, Hardy is a member of the Rotary Action Group for Population and Sustainable Development, the International Travel and Hosting Fellowship, and the Rotary Global History Fellowship.
Rotary District 5260 has jurisdiction over 33 clubs in the Southern California area including clubs in the San Fernando, Santa Clarita Owens and Antelope Valleys.
