New Member Krista Cooper ready to volunteer
Krista Cooper, sponsored by Dr. Leo Pisculli, was inducted into The Rotary Club of Bishop on August 20, 2013. Bob Tomko, past District Governor of Rotary led the induction and told Krista that she is now part of a global network of community volunteers. He said the 1.2 million Rotary members are business, professional and community leaders, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
Belonging to a Rotary club gives men and women an enjoyable and organized way to make a contribution to their community.
Krista works for the County of Inyo-Health and Human Services as a Social Worker Supervisor. She has a B.S. in Community & School Education from Cal State University, Long Beach. Krista was born and raised in Bishop, went away to college and came back with her husband, Michael, who found employment as an I.T. Manager @ CalTrans here in Bishop. They are now raising their 2 children in Bishop.
Krista said she was attracted to Rotary because she wanted to be part of their service programs in the community as well as creating new opportunities to help those in need.
President Maggie feels Krista is going to bring creativity, energy and lots of fun to our club. She will start working on youth programs.
When asked what else was interesting about her, she answered that she is a fitness-crossfit coach, loves to snowboard and loves her family.
