GSE Team from Nepal visits Bishop

The Rotary Group Study Exchange brings Nepal Rotarians to Bishop Rotary meeting. The Rotary Clubs of Bishop joined together to host Rotarians from District 3292 in Nepal. The Rotary District 3292 GSE Team traveled all the way from Nepal to meet with American Rotary members in District 5260. They gave a presentation at a joint meeting of the Rotary Club of Bishop and the Sunrise Rotary at a noon lunch Tuesday, May 4th.

Team Leader, Rajendra B. Shrestha introduced the GSE Team members, Prativa Maharjan serving as Public Relation and Marketing Officer in Eco Parquet & Decorators P. Ltd., Srijan Shrestha, an electronics and communication engineer currently working as assistant sales and marketing manager for Worldlink Communication Pvt. Ltd and also owns a Chinese & Continental Cuisine Restaurant, Sarana Shrestha, Physiotherapist in 'Self Help Group for Cerebral Palsy Nepal', Dr. Rikesh Tamrakar, MD and presently holds the position of lecturer in Kathmandu Medical College. Team Leader Rajendra B. Shrestha is a Corporate Management Consultant and was the founder of the Rotary Club of Rajdhani.

Each team member spoke in turn, describing themselves and providing information about their regions agriculture, history, cities, economy and tourism.

A party was held at the home of Leslie and Randy Nixon in honor of the visiting Rotarians. These visits from Rotarians from other countries are sponsored by The Rotary Foundation and are reportedly a very effective pillar to reinforce peace over the world.

Rotarians from District 3292 had the opportunity of hosting a team of 4 young professional ladies from District 5260. Becky Rosen, from Bishop, was one of the people helping creating enduring fellowship between the two Districts. Becky Rose, From Bishop, was Bishop Sunrise's outbound" Group Study Exchange team member who traveled with the 5260 District team to Nepal in March. Becky has taught 6^th and 7^th grade a Round Valley School since 2005 and is finishing her Master's Degree from Cal State Fresno.
