The Rotary Club of Bishop's Demotion party, finds Dana Crom on wrong side of law - for laughs!  The Bishop Rotary Club had on Friday night, June 26, 2009, what some members are calling one of its best "demotion" parties ever.  With about 65 Rotarians and guests in attendance, the club held its annual roasts in honor of the outgoing president - this time, Dana Crom.  Incoming President, Kay O'Brien, was there to join in the fun and be installed as the new President

Organizer Ed Nahin, the immediate past president, arranged for Inyo County's two Superior Court judges to hold a mock "session" in the outdoor garden area of Bishop Nursery, where the party was held.  Crom was "escorted" to her demotion by a Bishop Police Department officer in his squad car, and led to the garden where Judge Dean Stout was ready with a list of "charges" to read as he presided over the affair.  Judge Brian Lamb served as Crom's defense attorney.  There were witnesses from the club who all had clever and very funny charges.  Dana opened every Rotary meeting with an attorney joke so Dean Stout brought out charges against Dana for being disrespectful to attorneys, along with other 'exigent circumstnes.'  His official 'Good Cause Appearance' was also very clever.
