Bishop Rotary Foundation Annual Meeting
The Annual Meeting of the Bishop Rotary Foundation was held at the Whiskey Creek Restaurant during the noon Rotary meeting on July 14, 2009. The elections of new board members were: One year terms: Kay O'Brien, President, The Rotary Club of Bishop, Don Matthewson, President, Bishop Sunrise Rotary Club, Phil McDowell, Ed Nahin, and Tom Hallenbeck. Two year terms: Randy Van Tassell, John Fulton, and Kathleen Sheehan. Three year terms: Ted Schade, M.C. Hubbard, and Ken Deboy.
The Bishop Rotary Foundation is a private, not-for-profit corporation that serves as the primary community charitable arm of the two Rotary Clubs of Bishop, CA. Annual contributions to the Foundation from Rotarians and friends of the foundation are utilized to support granted for charitable and educational purposes, primarily in Eastern California's Inyo County, but also in other areas in need around the world. The activities of the Bishop Rotary Foundation help locally by giving scholarships to local graduating high school seniors, local non-profit coordination with other local organizations, community improvement programs and the Foundation funds Christmas gifts to foster children in the Bishop area. The Bishop Rotary Foundation also supports the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.
Since July 1, 1998 over $300,000.00 has been given by The Bishop Rotary foundation to many charitable programs.
