Members of the Rotary Club of Bishop gathered early Saturday August 9th to clean up Highway 395. As part of the "Adopt a Highway" program, members Leo Pisculli, Lee Mizrahi, John Fulton, Ellen Siegal, Dana Crom, Wright Huntley and late comer Wayne Hinkel, joined "volunteers" Delia Pisculli and Dana's boys Frankie & Joey Harvey in the clean up efforts.

The Rotary Club of Bishop has partnered with CalTrans for many years as an "Adopt a Highway" participant. The Bishop Rotary's two mile section of road is located on southbound Highway 395 just south of the Mill Creek turn off. Rotary Club President Dana Crom summed up the job as follows "although picking up trash is not the most glamorous work, it is necessary in order to keep our area, including this very busy highway, looking beautiful. Having my sons participate was also important, not only teaching them about community service but impressing upon them the impact litter has on our environment." The Rotary Club of Bishop cleans its portion of the highway four times a year.
