Bishop is surrounded by one of the most beautiful photographic settings in the world. The grandness of the vistas and visual landmarks are legendary. The photograph shown here relects my relationship with the land. Photography became part of my life over 50 years go. The passion for photography has remained all these years. The Bishop area offers a remarkable contrast of fall color. From majestic cottonwood trees in the Owens Valley, to aspens draping the high country, you'll be delighted by the range of color at various elevations. Hues of gold mixed with some red begin to show in the higher elevations of Bishop Creek canyon (South Lake, Lake Sabrina) in early September and typically last through the second week of October. Color change is very dependent on temperature and forecasting is difficult. Edward Nahin
