Our January 31st. Meeting featured 4 Students who are showing that they are future leaders.

We had our two participants Balpreet Sekhon and Nolan Buchanan who attended  YAIL (YOUTH ADVENTURES in LEADERSHIP) tell us about their weekend at the YAIL Camp. Both learned a lot and mentioned it was life changing. They found the speakers to be excellent and were very grateful for the opportunity to attend. There presentations showed the confidence that the Camp had given them.Image

Our second Presentation was from Niyanta Baniya and Nivedia Badhan students from Queen Elizabeth Secondary who had taken on Roots & Rhythms a Mutlicultural Event to raise funds for the Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation-They are aiming their funds at the NeoNatal unit.

The presentation was good both ladies knew what they wanted to achieve and they have taken on a large project which normally was a school run project (but due to teacher job action was going to not be run this year). They have rented the Surrey Arts Centre  for March 9th.6:30-9:00pm for the event and expect 400+ attendees. The event will have ethnic Foods and Dance from many of the smaller eastern nations. A great opportunity to learn about and meet our neighbours.
