District Governor Visit Sept 16.2014

Our Annual visitation of our District Governor Lyle Ryan took place last tuesday. The message was clear.. MEMBERSHIP. 
DG Lyle gave us an overview of membership statistics which showed for the first time in Rotary history actual worldwide membership

slipped below 1.2million members . He mentioned that although we add new members we lose as many from a various of reasons.

Some losses cannot be avoided but many can by keeping members engaged. Involve in activities , Increase networking and social interaction.

Many times we leave it to the Membership committee to get new members but we are ALL the membership committee and must ensure

we share the ROTARY story with people we meet in our daily life. Although ROTARY is known for giving members can benefit by networking.

Show the benefits of networking with like minded individuals our Creed the 4 way test. In our Club we(thanks to Past President John Edwards)

have been able to maintain a great speaker line up so members get to learn from these speakers. CEO's Doctors,Engineers,Investment Consellors,

arborists,  these are some of the categories covered by our speakers in the past year. 

This evening we increased our clubs membership by having DG Lyle induct 2 new members. Jagmeet Virk -Lawyer and Bhanu Bandela - Audiologist.Adding members with 2 new areas of expertise to share. 

The evening ended with President Garry presenting PJ Ryan (Lyle's wife and also a Rotarian) with a token of our appreciation for visiting and

sharing.
