APRIL 15th 2018
We had a very successful, very enjoyable community arts event today. The purpose was to raise awareness for our STARFISH BACKPACK program.
Our promotional table was jam-packed full of goodies and promotional materials to educate the public about what STARFISH BACKPACK program is providing to our community
We also provided special edition drawings of musical Starfish characters for children to take and colour, as well as very cool badges and brochures.
The main ticketed event, the art class,  was well attended in a wonderful state of the art venue, the Program Room at Surrey Arts Center.
Surrey Arts provided the easels and we provided the art materials. Our artist for the day, Farhad, gave 1-1 advice and help as the participant artists painted in acrylics.
Most of the participant artists had never painted in this medium before and Farhad coached them individually.
Each person took away a small painting that they had created.
So thanks to all who provided time and energy to organizing this event, and to those who attended.
A special thank you to Farhad for donating his time.
We will definitely be organizing another STARFISH BACKPACK  community arts event in the near future.

It looks hard to copy but with Farhad's

had a result to be proud of.

Each week we deliver backpacks to students at 2 inner city schools.
They provide sufficient food for 3 nutritious meals a day for the weekend.
