Well Carolina Arango can she is the city of Surrey Arborist and was the keynote speaker at our May 6th.meeting. assisted by Steve Whitton, City of Surrey Trees and Landscape Manager we learned about trees and why they are important,how to care for them and how to choose where to plant the tree. Examples of wrong decisions were shown which has led to the need for a Bylaw to protect trees.

The Tree Protection Bylaw #16100 that protects trees against damage and unnecessary removal. You must contact the city Tree and Landscaping dept for permission to remove a tree they will come out for free and evaluate your Trees providing you with guidance on removal and/or trimming.This link gives you all the details re permits.http://surrey.ca/community/1361.aspx

Did you know Surrey has a program where you can turn $25 into $75?
