AT-CURA Conference

On Tuesday May 27th.We had a double bill with two great speakers. One was Katie Miller from Kwantlen Polytechnic University
who updated us on a large research project led by Dr.Gira Bhat that was funded by a $1M grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.  They have completed the research part of the project and are now turning it into Action (unlike many of these research projects it will be used and not become a dust covered book).

AT-CURA is the acronym for Acting Together-Community University Reasearch Alliance.It is an organization made up if academic researchers and experienced community groups committed to preventing Gang recruitment of youth.
From July 23-25th the conference will take place at the Sheraton Guildford. Over the 3 days the research group comprised of teachers,researchers,youth workers,law enforcement and community groups will disseminate the data they have compiled and come up with action plans from a series of interactive sessions with the Groups and parents and youth. 

The conference is  not covered by the research $ so they are looking for sponsorships. Here is your chance to assist in solving a great community challenge.
