WHAT IS STARFISH?
The Starfish Backpack Program is a weekend Food literacy and availability program created in response to teachers hearing the cry of their students. Too many children were coming to class Monday morning hungry, reporting they had not eaten over the weekend.
HOW IT WORKS:
100% Staffed by volunteers that pack 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, healthy snacks and fruit into each backpack each weekend, throughout the school year. The backpacks full of food are delivered to Elementary Schools once per week.
