LEGACY PROJECT PRESENTATION
Thank you to Ian, Darrell, Mike P, Neil and Alan for working on this project. The City is coming next week to give us a glimpse at what the building will look like. Please have all your questions ready for them.

Gave an in-depth presentation on the proposed funding for the Club House at the new Soccer Field at Inlet Field.
3 Stories tall and includes
Banquet Facilities, Kitchen on 2nd Floor and offices & viewing gallery on the 3rd..
There will be ongoing Discussions with the City of Port Moody and our Club .
Full details have been sent out .
Further Presentations will be done in April and June.
Discussions with the city will continue .
Rotary International will not allow us to have the name of Rotary on the building.
The project will cost $10.3 million dollars.
The committee will be meeting with the Mayor and staff for further plans and final decisions.
Haleh's 2 nieces came to help make Valentines at Joan's home
Joan has been doing a fantastic job with the Spread a Little Love, Valentine project. We will need at least 300 Valentines. The Valentines above are from Heritage Mtn. Elementary.

Vida has done a wonderful job with our 2 retail boxes to collect Valentines from the community! 
There is a box at the Well, the new owner Peter pleased to display it. Vida has put beautiful red hanging Rick- rack along the edge- it looks like a beautiful coat!
The Backyard Bird Center, owned by Randy Solomon ( he lives in our building). His box is beautifully decorated too.
As a surprise for Randy and ourselves. Word is spreading throughout Port Moody about Rotary’s project- an unknown real estate agent just walked into the backyard bird center and handed Randy these 20 valentines cards with a simple message. There was no name on them, so husband, Gary, (who is the labeler in charge ) put our Rotary sticker on all of them and they are going into the pile too. Thank you whoever you are!
My visit to Heritage Mountain Elementary school Monday when therapy dog Trooper and I helped make about 50 beautiful cards from grade one and twos. They were all in animal shapes and the school had their label so I just put ours underneath it.
Above are all the beautiful Valentines we got from the school from the two classes. Teacher Lynne Borsbey has been instrumental in arranging this and helping us, and the principal came in to thank Rotary for all that we do.

Prior to going to Belize chrome books need to be confgured.
Mighty teams have showed up at Glen's to configure the Chromebook's for Belize schools. More came to help configure again.
Every month on the last Friday of the month we provide 'pies' to Eagle Ridge Manor residents.
Danne D has been going to ERM for years doing this and now newer members Joan & Haleh are helping. So nice to see you both there.

I truly enjoy participating in Pie Day each month at the hospital [manor]. It's a wonderful opportunity to bring joy to the residents and connect with the community in a meaningful way. Seeing the smiles on their faces as they enjoy a simple yet special treat, makes it all worthwhile. I only wish it happened more than once a month.

February 6th - Thirsty Thursday - Gary will be sending out a notice. - Meet at the Port Moody Legion at 5:15 pm. Everyone welcome.
February 8 - Belize container will be loaded and your help is needed. Come on out and help with this amazing project.

February 15th - Special 0 - 'Freezin for a Reason' Polar Plunge.

President Rick has our Freezin' for a Reason team signed up online. You can now register yourself, or donate to the team, or one of our participants. Rick, Allison and Brian D. already have their registrations live.
We had a lot of fun last year and raised funds for Special Olympics BC. It's a fantastic day at the beach. Swimming, beach fires, grass skirts - and all for a good cause.

Participating in the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics BC is an easy and fun way for all of us to connect and show we care about people with intellectual disabilities and foster inclusion.

February 22nd - Clean up Heritage Mtn. Blvd - meet at 8:45 at Gallaghers coffee shop in Newport Village. All are welcome.
May 10 - Shoreline Clean-up Help needed - 7-9 AM. Divers will bring up the trash from the inlet and we will take it up to a bin. Neil is waiting for More details from the CanBoat dive team.
Apparently,Metro Vancouver will handle the rubbish removal, once the drylands bins are loaded.
The job is patrolling the Belcarra shoreline south of the dock but also moving debris retrieved ny the dive team from the dock to the bins.
CanBoat (formerly the Canadian Power Squadron) is arranging media packages, so its an opportunity raise our club’s profile.
Date: Saturday May 10
Time: 7:00 plus to get Belcarra parking
Crew size:
Ten would be great but more hands (especially young hands) would be welcome.
