The Founder, Past President and Honorary member of our Rotary Club, Gene Vickers came to donate $5000.00 for our next Belize project. Gene is now a Rotarian in Vernon, BC and he and a couple of their members would like to join the next group going to Belize for the RI Global Grant. This is a great start, along with the $20K from our Rotary Club.

Gene presented our Rotary Club of Port Moody with the Banner from his Rotary Club the Vernon Silver Star Club. Ian MacPhail, one of the Committee members of the Legacy project spoke about Legacy and why they the committee believe we should go ahead with it. The Committee members were: Alan, Darrell, Neil, Victoria, Mike P and Ian.
He listed 3 things:
Finance, Time Line and How Rotary will be perceived.
Thank you to everyone who spoke on this motion.

On a happier note, Gary spoke about Thirsty Thursday and low and behold a couple from Germany were told by Assistant Governor Maureen that our Rotary Club was meeting at the Legion for Thirsty Thursday. They were at the Rotary International Conference in Calgary and now travelling around. Gary said they knew more about our area than he did. He said they were a lovely couple, first to arrive and last to leave. Well done everyone for being excellent hosts.
Happiest of Birthday's to Krista - Darrell's wifeAND to Monica for 1 year in Rotary.
Great to see Tom out to our Club again.
Always a good turnout to clean up Heritage Mtn Blvd., making our Community a better place to live.
Thank you to all who came to help AND to advertise Port Moody Rotary RIBFEST

Summer Sunday's knocked it out of the park again this past weekend with thousands attending. Rotary was acknowledged many times as 93.5 WAVE was 'on site' reporting live. George and I both spoke. I talked about ROTARY RIBFEST this coming weekend and asked for everyone to come on down. Mr. 50/50 Frank spoke live as well, and Gayle was there with a Share volunteer to sell tickets. The jackpot went up with all the good selling they did.

Our Rotary Club of Port Moody is getting great exposure at Summer Sunday's . This is the tent set up about 10.00 AM

And Speaking of Port Moody Rotary RIBFEST - YES IT IS THIS WEEKEND. Everyone keep track of your steps for the weekend and we will once again guess BILL'S !!!
