President Rick asked at the last meeting why we fly the US flag at our meetings.
We are District 5050 - 1/2 Americans and 1/2 Canadians. We fly for 'respect' for our American friends.
Currently, there are fifty-eight clubs in District 5050 with a total membership of just over 2,700 Rotarians.
Throughout all of the changes, we have always been an international District.
Our motto is: "50% American, 50% Canadian, 100% Rotarian".

Shannon - Darrell's daughter Shannon is becoming a regular and we are loving her spirit and willingness to help. She is making Valentines for our Share a Little Love project.
We know you all love chocolate chip muffins so now you can make your own.
Basic Chocolate Chip Muffins
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ cup white sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 egg
⅓ cup butter, melted
1 cup semisweet chocolate chip
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin or line with paper liners.
Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Stir in milk, egg, butter, and chocolate chips until combined. Pour batter into the prepared muffin cups.
Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean, 15 to 20 minutes
Peter asked if you could also bring a bottle of wine for the winning number. Jinsoo got to take the wine home.

Jan 31 - Friday - we will meet at the warehouse to "update" and activate the chrome books. No high tech knowledge necessary.... Let Glen know if interested and available.
February 8 - Saturday - we will load the container. This will be a very cool experience working with Dan and the Rotary World Help team, especially if you've not already seen them in action. This container is going to Belize and it is expected that the Club that sends the Container to the country they are supporting come out to help. Please let Dan know if you can help out.
February 1st - Joan's home to make Valentines.
Joan is doing a great job organizing the Valentines this year.
We will be collecting until February 8th.
Posters have been made and we have lots of of cooperation for places to drop off cards.
Challenge to all members to each make 10 Cards.
February 15th is the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics. Our team is called 'Freezing for a Reason' President Rick has asked everyone to please ask your friends and family to donate to this special event. He will have a pledge sheet ready for us the next meeting. The Port Moody Police are very involved in this project and it is great to help them out.
You can help by: Plunging, donating or cooking hot dogs for donation
Vida has asked everyone to please bring in their 'stamps' from the grocery stores for Bea's Kloset.

Need someone to come forward to be Volunteer Coordinator. Please talk to Allison.
President Paul would like to put together a Paul Harris Fellow Committee to give deserving Rotarians and Community members a Paul Harris Fellow recognition.
The highest form of recognition a Rotary Club can bestow is the Paul Harris Fellow. It is presented to a Rotarian or a member of the community who has made an outstanding contribution to their club or community. The Paul Harris Fellow Program was established by Rotary International in 1957 to show appreciation and recognize individuals who contribute, or have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to the Rotary Foundation.
Cleone is asking for members to come forward with ideas and to be on the committee.
