Darrell, our President-Elect (and Governor Nominee!), is currently in Taipei attending the Rotary International Conference.
The Rotary International Conference is a global gathering of Rotary members from around the world. These conferences bring together thousands of leaders, volunteers, and changemakers to share ideas, learn best practices, and celebrate the impact of Rotary projects worldwide. It’s an opportunity to hear inspiring speakers, explore innovative service initiatives, and build international partnerships that strengthen local and global efforts.
At its core, the conference reflects Rotary’s values of service above self, leadership, fellowship, diversity, and integrity. Attendees return with fresh insights and renewed energy to support projects that promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, support education, grow local economies, and protect the environment.
We look forward to hearing Darrell’s insights and experiences when he returns!

President Elect Darrell & Gayle are pleased to present Alan & Kathy with a community grant for The Air Rescue Association Canada.
This association is a nationwide volunteer aviation organization dedicated to providing air search and rescue support services.
We sincerely appreciate all that you do and feel very fortunate to have such an invaluable resource in our community.
Vice Governor Denis presented a Paul Harris Fellowship, Major Donor Awards to Brian Wormald & Steve Witiuk in recognition of their support of The Rotary Foundation.
Also Steve was presented with a Bequest Society, Level 4 Award.
Thank you Brian & Steve – your incredible kindness and generosity will help support and advance many meaningful Rotary Foundation projects.
Gary Wiggins gave his Classification talk this morning. Gary’s talk provided a wonderful glimpse into his life, from how he met his lovely wife to his career journey—rich with both funny and heartfelt stories. You are truly amazing, Gary—strong, kind-hearted, and possessing such a generous and loving spirit.
Gayle, our Book Boss, diligently oversees the management of the little Rotary Library at Old Orchard Park. She keeps the shelves well stocked and, whenever books start to run low, she goes on the hunt for more.

In the article “It’s foundational” (February), Alison Sutherland wrote about the eight pillars that support Positive Peace. I believe, however, that this list is missing a critical ninth pillar: a stable climate.
A warming planet is causing increasing heat waves, droughts, wildfires, and crop failures, which in turn are causing a rise in conflicts and migration. These things all work against peace and make the eight other pillars must more difficult, if not impossible, to achieve. Without a stable climate, there will be less and less peace. Rotary, working within the environment area of focus, can help prevent still more warming and climate disruption. The children of the world are hoping we have the wisdom to do so.
