Please come and participate. Please wear your Rotary shirt and remember you can NOT have an alcohol while volunteering [wearing the shirt].
June 7 - Shred-a-Thon - We will have posters available for you to put up at your mailboxes, favourite coffee shops and buildings. This is always a fun event and we will also need your help the day of the event. Saturday June 7th. This event is so well attended by our community who want their documents shredded 'on site'. We will have 2 trucks again so please let everyone know when this event is and that it is by 'donation'

Please ask your family, friends and neighbours if they could please donate a few hours to volunteer that weekend. July 18-20. We need lots of help. Also if you know of a very organized person to work the volunteer tent for the weekend that would be great. Peter has it all set up, but we need someone in the tent to answer questions and supervise the volunteers.

Provides community-based services to children, youth, and adults with physical, neurological, and developmental disabilities. Services are offered via a mix of in person, videoconferencing, phone, and email. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Nonprofit society, registered charity.
BC Centre for Ability is proud to be one of ten organizations around the province to be selected as lead agency for a new Foundry centre. BCCFA, along with a diverse group of community partners, was successful in the application to bring Foundry to Burnaby. Foundry centres provide four pillars of health care to youth and young adults between the ages of 12 to 24—physical/sexual health, mental health, social supports, and peer supports. The project will include funding from the Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions of approximately $3 million over the next 3 years, with the expectation that the grand opening of Foundry Burnaby will happen sometime in 2027.
This project will allow us:
- To grow our leadership provincially and specifically in the community of Burnaby.
- To lead in the design and delivery of better and more comprehensive services for children and youth in Burnaby.
- To have the resources and infrastructure to better meet the mental health needs of our clients.
- To grow and strengthen our profile and brand.
- To diversify our funding sources/revenue streams.
We are in the early stages of planning this exciting project and are working closely with the Foundry Central office to determine next steps. We look forward to sharing more about the project as we go along.
