In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
    That mark our place; and in the sky
    The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
 
We are the Dead. Short days ago

Lexa Hibenshield & Stephanie Snider from Transmountain Pipeline were excellent guest speakers this week.  We learned a lot about all the regulations and stipulations that they have gone through to make this pipeline safe and profitable.   Thank you so much for all the information.

“Trans Mountain has demonstrated that challenging, long linear infrastructure can be built in Canada,” said Dawn Farrell, President and CEO, Trans Mountain Corporation. “With our project management team and contractors, we were able to build 988 kilometres of new pipeline, 193 kilometres of reactivated pipeline, 12 new pump stations, 19 new storage tanks, and three new berths at Westridge Marine Terminal in Burnaby. We did this while adhering to the highest environmental, safety and social standards including respecting and working with local First Nations and Métis communities throughout the entire process.”

Trans Mountain would like to thank our many contractors and partners including First Nations and Métis communities, local and provincial governments, our parent company Canada Development Investment Corporation (CDEV), our customers, community stakeholders, regulators, and our employees who contributed to this success as we enter operations of our expanded pipeline system.

November 1- 30 - Message of Hope - to fill the Soroptomist's Bea's Kloset - please bring to Rotary or drop off at Linda's,  Household cleaning supplies or Kitchen supplies.  

Please bring to Rotary or drop at our home.

 

Please ask your friends and family members if they can help with this project.  It is the Christmas season and it would be wonderful if we could help fill Bea's Kloset to help those women and their families.  

This is a time where we can all help others.  The Rotary Club of Port Moody along with the Soroptomists Bea’s Kloset, would like to send a 'Message of Hope' to women in need in the Tri-Cities.  We will work along with the Soroptomist’s to help fill Bea’s Kloset. November 1-30th please drop off these items:

 “Message of Hope”  

We would like to fill 50 gift bags that will be distributed by the Soroptomist's who already have contact with these women who are in great need.  

Bea’s Kloset is a ‘free store’ for women and young girls transitioning to life on their own.

There are many reasons a woman or girl may need to access Bea's Kloset.  Girls aging out of foster care, girls pregnant or parenting at a young age, or women living in a recovery house or leaving because of abuse.

The items we would like to put in the bags are kitchen cleaning items as example:

Laundry Basket - Laundry detergent

Dish Detergent

Paper Towels - or Micro fibre towels

Any cleaning products -

Bathroom cleaner

Lysol

Window cleaner 

Soap

Toilet Brush

Garbage can

Baking soda

Vinegar

Brooms-dust pans

And any kitchen supplies such as:

Cookie sheets

Muffin bake pans

Cake pans  -  square

Measuring cups

Measuring spoons

Spatulas

Kitchen utensils (5 piece set in mesh bag at Dollar Stores). 

Can openers
