Gail Kaufmann from Volunteers Cancer Drivers Society received a Grant from our Rotary Club of Port Moody. We are grateful for all that these drivers do for the patients going for treatment.
The Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society is a not-for-profit organization providing complimentary transportation for Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley residents battling cancer.
When you are in need of transportation to care we are here to support you with safe, timely and efficient service. We are a registered charity and work to raise the funds necessary to meet expenses associated with meeting cancer patient needs.
Our team of volunteer drivers and dispatchers offers peace of mind for patients who may not have the means to drive to and from essential cancer treatments and cancer related medical appointments. The physical, emotional and financial burden is lifted knowing our friendly volunteers are only a call away.
Tuesday, Jun.25th – at City of Port Moody council meeting - Ian
We had 7 members go to the council meeting to hear the information on the Inlet Park Fieldhouse.
RIBFEST Update - Ian. First of all, Ian's hand is on his chest for a prayer for the Edmonton Oilers. They almost did it !!!!
We are on the countdown now. Please ask everyone you know if they would please volunteer at RIBFEST. We really need people in the parking area, we need cashiers and of course we need volunteers that will help the 'green team'.

It was wonderful to hear one of our newest members, Mike, talk about the experience he had in Red Deer, Alberta, for the 100 Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Red Deer. We could hear the pride in his voice.

I am sorry to report that Leo Nimsick, former District Governor and long-time Rotarian, passed away on June 29, 2024 after a long illness.
Leo had a lengthy career as a lawyer and judge, and was well-respected by other lawyers and judges throughout his career. However, Leo’s passion was Rotary. He was a consummate Rotarian, with decades of perfect attendance and total commitment to the organization. In addition to being a member of several clubs, including the Rotary Club of Port Moody, he also served a term as District Governor of District 5040, was active in RYLA, and attended many international conferences.
Leo leaves behind his wife Diana Cabott and his son John. He will be missed.
