Our guest speaker Wednesday morning was Marty Pease from The International Project Alliance. Marty is from La Conner, WA, speaking on vocational training in Mayan villages in Honduras.

Guests on Microsoft Teams: Gene Vickers, Michael Wardlow, from the Vernon Silver Star Rotary club and Aird Flavelle from the Abbotsford club.
Marty is representing the International Project Alliance (IPA), a group of 14 Rotary clubs in District 5050 and the Copan club working together doing humanitarian efforts surrounding Copan Ruina, Honduras. The alliance was founded in 2024.
Program provides tuitions and school supplies supporting middle schools and trade schools.
Also provides essential upgrading and adding more support to existing schools by providing electricity, working latrines and furniture, and new libraries, and a much needed student health fund.
Brings villages out of poverty with basic education and planning, microfinancing, agricultural and health care training.
Starting new program focusing on savings and loans, home gardening, and cultural training.
Helped fund a satellite trade school with trades like carpentry, electrical, baking, hair care, and sewing.
Results have been very positive – 64% students have graduated so far!
Projection of this project is another 100-140 more graduates this coming year.
