Sea Cadets is a national organization for youth between 12 and 18 years old. Sea Cadets teaches and encourages citizenship, responsibility, self-discipline, leadership, organization, time management, physical fitness, and overall self-improvement. We seek to instill a good hard work ethic, a sense of teamwork, and an understanding that success comes with effort and perseverance. All of this is achieved through an organized program of training and activities.
201 Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps GRILSE serves Port Moody, Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam in BC.
We meet Wednesday Evenings, 6:30 – 9:30 pm September through June in Rocky Point Park, Port Moody.

We have optional activities like first aid training, hiking, and orienteering.
We also have opportunities for Cadets to travel abroad on International Exchanges, or to be sent on Canadian Navy or Coast Guard ships for seamanship training.
We have an outstanding summer training program, with summer courses ranging from 2 to 8 weeks in length. After attending several summer training courses, Cadets can apply to become summer staff at our training centers, earning a great summer income and having fun doing it.

Rotary's values in training our youth with RYLA are lined up with the Sea Cadets.

Neil had a milestone birthday and we wish him Health, Happiness and lots of new Adventures.
Club Anniversaries are: Darrell since 2001 and Jim since 2022.
Brian spoke of his passion and the Club's passion for our Belize project. Already in the works in a Global Grant for Belize and we thank Al S., Glen and Brian for the hard work that has been done on this. The goal is to raise $200,000.00 US for this grant and then deploy about 25 more schools and change the lives of about 3000 children. Our Club has helped to change the lives of so many in Belize and this grant will further our ability to do more. We have asked the Board for $20,000.00 CND towards this project.

Still amazed by the amount of litter in our city but sincerely appreciate the dedicated crew from Rotary Club of Port Moody who adopted Heritage Mountain Boulevard and a committed to cleaning it up. They and the Brewers Row crew are the only ones I see out following through.
And after the Clean up they went for coffee as always.
Terry Fox Run - Thank you to all who came to volunteer at the Terry Fox Run. As usual Peter had the set-up for taking donations down perfectly.

BBQ at Belcarra
Thank you to Susan, Monica, Jim & Ian for putting together a great BBQ.
The weather co-operated and there was plenty of food for all.
We took the photo late so many had left.

Please keep Gary S in your thoughts for speedy healing, as he had a fall at the BBQ. Dr. Joan says nothing is broken.
