Dan Gallant did the Rotary Minute and talked about Vocational Service in Rotary and how it impacts the world. Excellent Job Dan.

Announcements:
Alan Feb. 18th - 1PM at City Hall. We should attend and support Community Organizations with Grant requests under $5,000. And vote for them.

Cleone and Danne got Ribfest Sponsorship for $10,000. From Nu-Floors and the Children's Zone. Congratulations.

Pub Night Wednesday Feb. 1st. at 6:30pm at St James Well to support Days for Girl's in Kenya.

Peter talked about SFPP to be held May 11th at City Hall with 600 tickets available this year at $45. Last year we made $27,000 from this event and it is so important for our fundraising. He will be calling a meeting soon.

Brian talked about the Generous Hearts food drive on Feb. 11th at Thrifty"s and is asking for volunteers.

Trudy asked members to support Port Coquitlam's Blues Music Festival On Feb. 26th, Help them be successful.
 
Also good news from Trudy's family.....yep she is going to be a Grandma.....and we know just how wonderful that will be.  Congratulations !!!


Special Guest Sandy Burpee

Currently in the Tri Cities there are around 80-90 people Homeless.
And a great deal has been done to help these people.
A Homeless Shelter has been built in Coquitlam at 3030 Gordon Ave.
This Shelter was opened last year and has:
30 beds in 30 rooms for stays up to 30 days.
30- Bachelor suites to give help to learning to live by themselves
Plus 30 shelter beds for extreme weather, which were filled over limit this winter
Lots of safety for those that live there.
Built by BC Housing Corp.
For People 19 and over no children in this shelter.
The facility will accommodate people Mentally challenged.
Since OCT. 2015 HAVE HAD 150 people.
Oldest person staying there was 84 year old along with her daughter 60 years old.

Food Services, Laundry, Gardening, Community Cleanup, at the building they have a BBQ and would love for us to do an evening event.
Also would like help with the Homeless Count in March 2017.
