We have some truly uplifting news to share about our incredible work with the assistance of the Rotary Foundation, and it’s all thanks to your amazing generosity! Just this year our club has contributed an impressive $4,500 USD to the Rotary Foundation to support vital initiatives worldwide. That’s right—each small act of giving adds up to a significant impact, and your contributions are making waves!
Your support has allowed our club to remain actively engaged in projects in Kenya, Belize, and Ecuador. We are especially proud to announce that we have been recognized by BELRAG – the Basic Education and Literacy Rotary Action Group – for our exceptional work in Belize, particularly our project in the Belize Central Prison. This acknowledgment comes with a $500 USD cash prize that we will channel directly into furthering our international efforts. Talk about a rewarding cycle of giving!
But the excitement doesn’t stop there! Our International Chair, Al Stjernegaard, has confirmed that our global grant application has been approved! We are proud to announce that our collaboration with the Rotary Club of Belize has resulted in a Rotary Foundation award of $155,758 USD (that’s a whopping $224,000 CAD) for laptops, offline RACHEL systems, and training for schools in the Toledo District, Belize. Together, we are helping transform lives through education!
And now, we need YOU to help us build on this momentum! Our project involves shipping a container filled with computers, medical supplies, and essential educational materials. This is where you come in! Join us on February 8 for a day of camaraderie and purpose as we load the container. If you're interested in lending a hand, please reach out, or have a chat with Dan!
Also, we are collecting school supplies until February 1, and we invite you to contribute! Every pencil, notebook, and backpack will make a difference! Bring your donations to our club meetings or contact Brian or I to arrange a pickup. Check out the attached poster for ideas, and don’t hesitate to get creative with your contributions!

Once again our Rotary Club of Port Moody has done so much to help in other countries.
Our club via the International Committee donated a RACHEL and 2 Chrome books to support our efforts with True North Mission (Surgical group from Calgary) that Ian and Trish support and whom are partners in our Ecuador Global Grant.
Michael Berrisford assisted loading in the Spanish content...with another club now but ever supportive..,
This will be a huge help to augment the education of the very poor...
Our Little Lending Library needs books. If you can take the books to the Little Lending Library at Old Orchard Hall, that would be a great help to Gayle....but Anyone can bring them to the meeting and Gayle will put them in the library.

February 15th is the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics. President Rick has asked everyone to please ask your friends and family to donate to this special event. He will have a pledge sheet ready for us the next meeting. The Port Moody Police are very involved in this project and it is great to help them out.

Susan has sent a sign-up sheet around and when you sign up, please take a photo of the page so you can mark your Calendars to come a little early and stay a little late. We need new people share the responsibility so it is not the same people each week.
