The 2026 Polar Plunge for The Special Olympics turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day to jump in the ocean - and all for a great cause! This annual event empowers Special Olympics BC athletes and raises vital funds to support Special Olympics BC’s life-changing year-round sport, youth, and heath programs for athletes with intellectual disabilities.
And a big Thank You to our club for running the hot dog stand and feeding all of the hungry, wet participants. More pics to follow.

Our Meeting:
The Spirit Triathlon brings together swim, bike, and run challenges for kids ages 7 to 11, all designed to spark participation, build community spirit, and boost physical literacy. More than just a race, this event helps young athletes discover goal‑setting, fitness, and healthy nutrition in a fun, encouraging environment.
The triathlon also inspires school pride, teamwork, and unity & inclusion - strengthening the bonds within and between school communities. By empowering youth with physical literacy skills, the Spirit Triathlon is helping to grow a stronger, healthier community for the future.
And unlike traditional triathlons focused on rankings and times, this event celebrates every participant’s achievement, building confidence, self‑esteem, and a positive lifelong relationship with sport.
After facing profound tragedies in her life, Grace returned to her vision of inspiring future generations through the Spirit Triathlon. In just one year, the event has grown from 42 participants to more than 300—blossoming into a powerful celebration of hope, determination, and the belief that every child can achieve something extraordinary.
Through her partnership with Triathlon BC, Grace has expanded the triathlon’s mission to empower youth even further, piloting programs designed to build confidence, strengthen character, and foster true community connection.
Thank you, Grace, for sharing your beautiful story with our club. Your passion and unwavering commitment to young people is nothing short of inspiring!
