Sad News from Past DG Sean Hogan

Life can be shorter than we expect. Carol, was diagnosed with cancer two weeks ago. It has spread aggressively.
Carol has been in the emergency ward of Surrey Memorial Hospital since Saturday. Her cancer has spread quickly and her kidneys are no longer functioning.
She is weak but alert, and has made the decision not to continue her struggle. We will be meeting with the palliative care doctor to discuss her end of life options.
Fortunately all three of our children and their families are here with us so that we can say our farewells together.
Do not feel that you need to reply as we are overwhelmed at this time and I won't be checking your replies. We just wanted to share the information.
This picture was taken just over one month ago. We lost Carol's parents to cancer in their late 50's and our philosophy since then has been to enjoy every day while you live it. We've done that and hope that you will also.
Our life together has been enriched by all of you. Our wish is that you be kind to yourself and to others and make the world better from your presence in it.
Sean
