5,000 students and 380 teachers helped!!
Rotary Club has been involved for 3.5 years and 13 active members
Coquitlam Sunrise donated $5,000 USD.
Port Moody donated $1000.00 USD
Kamloops West donated $9,000.USD
With a total of $64,400 after all Rotary dollars.

36 participants and members showed up for the project in Equator.
The parents of the school children showed up to say thanks for all that Rotary had done for them.
Very positive remarks and thanks . The children said in English 'thank you angel for giving us safe water.'
Another small project the club did while they were there was a project to paint the home for unwed mothers having babies. The average age of girls 14-15, with children 2-3 years old.
Next step is to support 6 more schools in January 2026

What a fabulous day!
When you have amazing weather, combined with amazing partners and even more amazing volunteers, how can you have anything other than a ‘ripping’ success!!!!!!!
The students from Heritage Woods Science Co-op Program worked like trojans and had so much fun. Teachers Mike & Brooke split them into 3 teams and off they went. Some tackled the English Ivy, some the Himalayan Blackberrys and we all shared the Holly! There was music as one of the groups worked, and the work was done so more effectively!!!
Let’s call it “Rocking the Removal” – it might start a trend!

Then there was Sarah from the City of Port Moody – who orchestrated the whole thing along with Rotary’s own Cleone. A formidable pair if ever there was. Of course Cleone could not be with us today, but was with us in spirit. Sarah not only managed all the moving parts today, she guided the students on how to identify the invasives, and watch out for inherent local dangers as they worked, she got her hands dirty too! Thank you Sarah!

On a date soon to be decided, we have Seaview Elementary students keen to do some native plant planting in Westhill. Cleon has been working with the teachers there and they are pretty excited. Stay tuned!!!!!!

We lost an amazing woman. My Mom left this world for a better place. Always helping others. Life achievement awards from Red Cross and Girl Guides. Avid curling fan, she attended many Briers, Scotties as well as watching many other curling events. Numerous trips and cruises. As well as being my Mom she was my Grade 1 teacher, I would come home and tell about my day at school ;o).
A life well lived.
