Our Educational Toy Drive was held on Saturday—thank you to everyone who helped make it a success. Next year will be even better with more time for planning, preparation, and marketing (and hopefully less rain!). A special shout‑out to Cleone for coming up with the idea for this much‑needed and impactful event for the school children in Belize.

Guest Speaker: Tracy Crawford from Coquitlam Search & Rescue
- Established in 1972, Coquitlam Search & Rescue is a community based volunteer organization providing land and inland water search, rescue services and wilderness public safety education in the Tri-Cities area.
- A team of 63 volunteers including GSAR, Support Operational, Resource Members and Speciality Team Members.
- Huge volunteer commitment - on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week year round - often working in darkness and inclement weather.
- Training is one evening a week as well as one weekend a month
- Team members with specialty skills also attend additional training sessions
- Training includes swift water rescue, AVI, rope rescue, first aid, marine rescue, e- bike rescue, and much more.
- Fundraisers to outfit new specially equipped truck, purchase of drones and volunteer training.
- Drones have become an essential tool for safety and saves valuable time.
- Fundraiser raised over $15k to date - kits are available on line. Survival kits have basic essentials to survive a night out in the wilderness.
New addition is Otto who provides a vital skill set - he is trained to rappel, ride in the rescue helicopter, and is included on most rescue missions.
Thank you Tracy for your presentation and for everything you and your team contribute through Coquitlam Search & Rescue. It is truly amazing to see the incredible work that volunteers working together can do!
Victoria, our Rotary exchange student, spent 5 days snowboarding in Big White and then was off to Whistler & Mount Baker. With the exception of a short time of being lost on a mountain, she told us she had a wonderful time!
Neil has put together teams to pick up, organize, and load equipment and supplies for Rotary World Help for Saturday February 07 for the Belize project, from 9:00 am to noon.

Valentine’s Day project - Joan, Carmen, and Bill
Thank you to everyone who have reached out to schools, businesses, and individual families to make and collect Valentines cards. Last year we obtained over 400 cards that were distributed to Eagle Ridge Manor, SHARE, Innervisions, the Starfish program, and seniors around Port Moody. So far this year there are 6 classrooms , ,several daycares, St James Well and Backyard Bird Centre that will be making and/or collecting the cards. The deadline is Monday, February 9th and will be collected from the schools and businesses. Individuals can bring their Valentine's into Port Moody Rotary by Feb 9 and Carmen and Joan can distribute them. The citizens of Port Moody say THANK YOU!!

Looking for volunteers to help with the HIP – Honouring Indigenous Peoples event – a weekend bringing Rotary groups together with Indigenous youth. This event aims to foster reconciliation, environmental stewardship, and cultural understanding among Indigenous and non-indigenous youth across Canada for community well-being and advancing the next generation of leaders.
