Our Rotary International Global Grant for Belize is creating momentum . Thank you to the Port Coquitlam Centennial Club and to the Coquitlam Sunrise Club for starting this off. PP Al, Glen and Brian were at the Coquitlam Sunrise meeting to receive this cheque.
This Global Grant will be used to install the Rachel (Remote Area Community Hotspot for Education and Learning) devices in the most rural schools in southern Belize. This device is used for Education purposes and does not need internet. It has proven to be effective in the prison system for educating the prisoners and in some of the schools within Belize City and some rural areas.

District Governor Dave Duskin's visit was outstanding. We had almost 100% of our members in attendance and DG Dave's talk was excellent.

Bill Lawrie
What more can we say about our ‘Green Machine’. Bill is a huge part of our Community helping with the Seniors the Library Board and cleaning up our community. Bill is known for all the recycling he does at RIBFEST and our Search for the Perfect Pint and SHRED-A-THON. He recycles in his apartment building daily and is at all community events. He volunteers at the Golf club and brings all the cans to be recycled from there so our Rotary Club benefits the funds. Bill is at every function, he & Jackie are a part of our Book Club, and they come to most Thirsty Thursday’s. Bill is a ‘Green Machine’ for sure with over 250,000 steps at RIBFEST.
Danne Dunlop
Danne is the quiet ‘doer’ in our Rotary Club. He has been ordering badges for new members for years now and does it without anyone having any idea of how we get them. ;o)
Also he has been ‘greeting’ our members and guests at the door forever and does so always with a smile and a good hug or handshake.
Danne has taken the responsibility of picking up pies at Thriftys every month and taking them and serving them to the Seniors at Eagle Ridge Manor. He helps organize the car show at Manor as well.
Every year we make chili at Innervisions and BBQ for these men in recovery and Danne is always there front and centre. He is always the first to donate items for their Christmas presents as well.
& the 3rd one will be a surprise until they get back into town.
DG Dave also gave a Paul Harris +2 award to our very own Assistant Governor
Congratulations to AG Glen.
Last year the Rotary Club of Port Moody was one of the clubs that received the Presidential Citation under the leadership of PP Susan Bell.
