The second half of our Rotary Year started off great. President Rick had many 'gifts' for very deserving members.
Peter Cuthbert received his Paul Harris + 4 and a toy train in recognition of the Share Christmas train and hot chocolate event and Cheer on the Pier, that Peter organized and lead the team.
Peter has given Clayton 'huge' kudos for all the help he gave to the 'team' at the Hot Chocolate events. Share Christmas Train and Cheer on the Pier.
Peter says 'without him we couldn’t have pulled off those events'
Neil Nyberg is our Secretary and President Rick stated how very thankful he is for all the work that Neil does on behalf of the Club. Neil also received a Paul Harris + 1

Joan is taking charge of the Valentines again this year and has some very good ideas for this. She is going to put up Valentine boxes in the Community for citizens to put Valentines in. Joan is hoping that we will get lots of 'children' making Valentines as the Seniors love to receive the notes that the kiddos write. She is having a Valentine work bee at her home on February 1st. Joan has also challenged everyone to bring in 10 Valentines made by children.
Joan received her first Paul Harris.
Gary talked about Thirsty Thursday and the next one will be on February 6th. President Rick gave Gary a giant wine glass for encouraging everyone to come to Thirsty Thursdays .
Our monthly clean-up of Heritage Mtn. Blvd. took place last Saturday. Again thank you to Alan for organizing and remember if you ever want to volunteer on the second Saturday of the month, please show up before 9:00AM at Gallaghers as the group leaves at exactly 9:00 AM. There is always time for a coffee after the clean up. Nice to see Darrell's daughter Shannon out to help. AND Alan is missing from the photo.
Spirited Book Club met at Cleone's on Tuesday. If you would be interested in joining our 'book club', please let PP Susan know.
Cleone spoke about the Environmental Committee and is now looking for a replacement for this position for next year. Cleone will mentor you
President Elect Alison has asked that if you are interested in being on the 'Board' for 2025-2026 to please let her know. Please know that you will be mentored by anyone who is coming 'off' the board so it is an easy transition. There is one Board meeting a month. There will always be members that would love to be on your committee to help you and you will find 'leads' from those committee members, to take on any new or events that we already do. It is a great way to be further involved in our Rotary Club. One position we are really looking for is President Elect for that 2025-2026 year.

February 1st. Valentine making at Joan's. Time to be announced.
February 15th. Polar Plunge......please let Mike Clay know asap if you want to volunteer for the BBQ. Mike wrote:
As you are aware, the PMPD participates in the Special Olympics Fund Raiser 'Polar Plunge', held at Rocky Point Park.
The event is on February 15 (Saturday) and event time is 12noon to 2pm.
Our friend Sam from PMPD has asked if we could provide support to serve hot dogs, by donation, for the participants and spectators.
Anticipate we would need to be there earlier to setup, im going to guess at about 1030 ?
Our president Rick took over the organizing of this event that PP Ian originally brought this to the club.
PP Rick participates - if you are planning to participate, you would not be able to do both, so please dont offer to volunteer if you are plunging.. and good luck to you..
For the rest of us who are leaning to the sanity side, if you are interested in helping out to volunteer to prepare and serve hot dogs, please let me know...
We should probably have 4-6 people to make it efficient.
Hot dogs are 'sold' by donation with proceeds going to Special Olympics.
Sam is talking to Thrifty Foods about donating the supplies.
Please let me know asap so we can confirm - we will be bringing tent, table, bbqs, grilling dogs and buns and serving with condiments. Food safe certified volunteers are great, but not required.
RIBFEST - meetings will be the 3rd. Tuesday night of each month until June and then will be more regular.
