Capri Maddox is the General Manager/Executive Director of the Los Angeles Department of Civil and Human Rights which was formed by Mayor Garcetti in 2020. Maddox, a former president of the Los Angeles Board of Public Works, also served as a senior advisor to City Attorney Mike Feuer — overseeing initiatives that include the City Attorney Business Support program and attorney recruitment and outreach efforts. She also created the Foster Care Diversion Program, organized the City Attorney Faith Based Council, addressed key Neighborhood Council and City Council requests, participated in criminal and civil cases, and coordinated school safety efforts with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). Maddox served as a Neighborhood Prosecutor from 2005-2010, working alongside residents in coordination with LAPD’s Wilshire Community Police Station. During the 2018-19 school year, Maddox served as Executive Director of Partnerships for LAUSD — assisting the district with acquiring more than $43 million in resources for students in need and several equity-based initiatives.
