Every year, MVFC holds a community Literacy Fair that encourages children and students to read and learn. Children of all ages can drop by the center on a Saturday, to pick up free books to read, make crafts, listen to guests read stories, and their families can socialize and learn more about local resources, while also enjoying lunch and listening to jazz band. However, in light of the ongoing pandemic, unfortunately MVFC had to adjust this event this year. We have supported this event the past few years.
On Friday April 16, 2021 at 4:00pm – MVFC and its sponsors, Echoes of Hope, ABC 7, and Disney have provided meals and books to give away during the event. MVFC is requesting at least 4 PVS Rotarian Volunteers to help set up, and pass out bags of books to children and family during the event!
If you are interested and can volunteer, please e-mail me at jjenrotary@gmail.com and copy Lucia Diaz at ldiaz@marvistafc.org ASAP. You will need to arrive around 3:30pm to help set up. Please don't forget your Rotary attire and face masks!
